I spent over 15 years building gardens along the Mediterranean coast and oceanfront properties in southern and western France before Bali pulled me in. The greenery, the culture, the pace of growth here, it's a different world and I wanted to work in it properly, not just admire it.

That's why I started Mr Hijau. I bring what I learned in Europe and apply it to Bali's climate and materials, always with an eye on what the site actually needs rather than a fixed idea of what a garden should look like.

A garden here should feel like it belongs to the island as much as to you. Built thoughtfully, maintained properly, and made to last well beyond the day we finish planting.
